Shaping our plan together – GD3 Business Plan update webinar
In December 2024, SGN will submit its business plan for the next Gas Distribution period of 2026 -2031 (GD3) to the energy regulator, Ofgem. We are committed to creating and delivering a plan that meets the needs of those who rely on our network to warm their fuel their homes and businesses. As such, we have been running a programme of engagement these important stakeholders throughout the past 12 months, to gather their thoughts and views to help us shape the initiatives that we will commit to for GD3.
Every voice matters
This webinar was a opportunity for stakeholders to hear how their inputs and insights from earlier engagement activities had influenced our decision making. SGN previewed some key initiatives from the business plan that had been tested with stakeholders previously, show where we had listened to feedback and acted on it.
The initiatives shared fell under the customer and stakeholder priority areas of supporting customers in vulnerable circumstances, developing low -carbon energy solutions and improving our environmental performance. Innovation drivers associated to the key areas were also shared.

Key insights
The majority of stakeholders who responded to our post-event survey said they felt the plans shared were ‘very acceptable’ or ‘acceptable’. One respondent selected the option ‘don’t mind either way’. No one considered our plans to be ‘unacceptable’ or ‘very unacceptable’.
